- That has nothing to do with the degradation of PC audio quality. What (used
- to) degrade PC audio quality was the fact that most audio cards used to be
- unshielded and picked up a lot of noise from the equally unshielded
- power supply. However, the more recent PC soundcards no longer exhibit
- this flaw. The GUS, for example (the lowest-end wavetable card costing
- only $115), is shielded--which produces a weighted SNR of -85dB.
